Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CodePick (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Clera mobile application (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the App.
1. Who We Are
Clera is a phone-cleaning and storage-optimization app that helps you review and remove unneeded photos and videos, convert Live Photos to stills, compress media, clean up and back up your contacts, and store private items in a secure vault.
- Provider: CodePick
- Website: https://codepick.in
- Policy URL: https://codepick.in/cleara-phone-cleaner/privacy-policy/
- Support email: [email protected]
2. Our Core Privacy Principle: On-Device Processing
Clera is designed to do its work locally on your device. The scanning, analysis, deduplication, compression, and conversion of your photos, videos, and contacts happen on your iPhone or iPad.
- We do not upload your photos, videos, or contacts to our servers.
- Items you place in the in-app Vault are stored encrypted on your device and protected by a PIN and/or biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID). We never receive your Vault PIN or its contents.
- Contact backup files you create stay on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
The categories below describe the limited information that is collected to operate, secure, and improve the App.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Grant Access To (Processed On-Device)
With your permission, the App accesses the following solely to provide its features. This data is processed locally and is not transmitted to us:
| Permission | Why it is requested |
|---|---|
| Photos | To scan, preview, categorize, compress, convert, and delete media at your direction. |
| Contacts | To detect duplicate or incomplete contacts and to create backups you control. |
You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, certain technical and usage information is collected automatically through the third-party services described in Section 6:
- Device & technical data: device model, operating system version, language, region, time zone, app version, and similar diagnostic identifiers.
- Usage & event data: in-app actions and screen views (for example, starting a scan or completing a cleanup), session information, and feature usage.
- Session interaction data: through Microsoft Clarity, we capture anonymized interaction data such as taps, scrolls, and screen navigation (session replay and heatmaps) to understand and improve usability. Sensitive screens are masked; this is not used to identify you.
- Crash & performance data: crash logs, error reports, and performance metrics used to diagnose and fix problems.
- Advertising identifiers: identifiers such as the IDFA, collected only with your consent (see Section 7).
- Push token: a device push notification token, if you enable notifications.
- Anonymous identifier: a randomly generated, anonymous account identifier (Firebase anonymous authentication) used to give your install a stable ID. It is not linked to your name, email, or any personal account.
3.3 Subscription & Purchase Data
When you purchase a subscription, the transaction is handled by Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We receive purchase status (for example, whether you have an active subscription and which plan), but we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App’s features;
- Process and manage subscriptions, free trials, and entitlements;
- Display advertising (for users who are not subscribed), subject to your consent;
- Measure advertising and marketing performance and attribution;
- Diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and improve stability and usability;
- Send push notifications you have opted into;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
5. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the App and manage your subscription.
- Consent — for advertising tracking (ATT), personalized ads, and push notifications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — for analytics, crash reporting, security, and improving the App, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
6. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, which may collect and process data under their own privacy policies:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Apple App Store / StoreKit | App distribution and in-app purchases | https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ |
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance, Cloud Messaging, Authentication, Remote Config) | Analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, push notifications, anonymous identity, remote configuration | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google AdMob & User Messaging Platform | Advertising and consent management | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Meta (Facebook) App Events SDK | Advertising measurement and attribution | https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy |
| Microsoft Clarity | Product analytics, session replay, and heatmaps to understand how the App is used | https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement |
We do not control how these providers use data once it is collected by their SDKs. Please review their policies for details.
7. Advertising and Tracking (App Tracking Transparency)
Free (non-subscribed) users may see advertisements served by Google AdMob.
- On first use, the App presents Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt asking for permission to track you across apps and websites.
- If you allow tracking, advertising identifiers (such as the IDFA) may be used to deliver and measure personalized ads, including via Meta App Events.
- If you deny or do not grant tracking, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized, and advertising identifiers will not be used for cross-app tracking.
- You can change this choice anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Subscribed (PRO) users do not see advertisements.
8. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers (Section 6) who process data on our behalf to operate the App;
- With Apple, to process purchases and subscriptions;
- For legal reasons, if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CodePick, our users, or others; and
- In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change.
9. Data Retention
- Photos, videos, contacts, and Vault contents remain on your device under your control; deleting the App removes locally stored App data, including the Vault.
- Analytics, crash, and advertising data are retained by our third-party providers according to their retention policies.
- Subscription records are retained as needed to manage your entitlements and meet legal and accounting obligations.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including on-device encryption for the Vault and protection via your device passcode and biometrics. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Important: Because your Vault PIN and contents never leave your device and are not known to us, we cannot recover them if you forget your PIN or lose your device.
11. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] so we can take appropriate action.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent (for example, for tracking or notifications);
- Data portability; and
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
13. International Data Transfers
Our third-party providers may process and store data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
